As a joint project of MIT Libraries and the Hewlett-Packard Company, DSpace was
developed to provide a long-term sustainable digital repository for all
documents and other electronic content produced by MIT faculty and researchers.
Users may access documents through a keyword search across the entire site or by
browsing or searching the collections of each community such as the Department
of Ocean Engineering or the Sloan School of Management. The system supports a
large variety of file formats and content types that can include articles,
technical reports, working papers, conference papers, preprints, images,
